From Classic to Cutting-Edge: Resident Evil 4 Remake Is a Must-Play
A lot of websites have given this remake a perfect 10 and praised the changes made to both the graphics and gameplay of the game. Below are some of the best.
Tristan Agilvie, the writer for IGN, has quoted: “Resident Evil 4’s original DNA has been extracted, synthesised, and injected into a state-of-the-art host game, mutating it into a menacing new monster.” Moreover, he also concluded: “Resident Evil 4 is like riding a rollercoaster that’s careening off the rails to crash through a row of spectacular haunted houses.“
Liam Croft, the author of PushSquare, has claimed that the Resident Evil 4 remake maintains the action-packed gameplay of its predecessor, and the PS5’s DualSense controller adds to the experience with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
The updated control scheme allows for more freedom and better control, making the game feel like a modern video game again. The improvements and enhancements make the PS5 version a worthwhile purchase for fans of the franchise.
Wrapping up, he leaves his conclusion: “Nearly 20 years later, Resident Evil 4 is just as much of a masterpiece today as it was in 2005. Capcom has faithfully remade a genuine classic by bringing it into the modern age and kitting it out with new content, tremendous combat, and striking visuals. What was there before was already enough to consider Resident Evil 4 one of the best games of all time, but now it earns that title in 2023 off the back of better environments and sublime action. This is Resident Evil at its absolute pinnacle; an utterly outstanding experience that will live long in the hearts of longtime fans while inducting a whole new generation of supporters”.
Even the Washington Post, the newspaper that covers national and international news, business, and technology, has highly evaluated the latest remake product from Capcom. Gene Park, the writer of the Washington Post, has appraised the remake of Resident Evil 4 as like “reliving a cherished memory”.
Gene starts in his blog post: “A Resident Evil remake is experiential, probably closer to reliving your favorite concert with your favorite artist, in the same venue, all with better light rigging and sound, and everyone still has the same youthful verve. The series’ ability to replicate that kind of experience has made it the gold standard of remaking video games”.
He believes the 2005 version is the foundation for successful games, including Fortnite and The Last of Us. In other words, these two games wouldn’t exist without Resident Evil 4.
Showing his glorious impression of Resident Evil 4, he concludes that the remade “Resident Evil 4” is more than just another technical product, as it feels like reliving a fond memory and returning to a childhood bedroom.
