After a rather long wait, fans of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt : Complete Edition get their definitive, next-gen version of their game as a physical release. Starting with the 26th of January, The Witcher 3 physical versions are now available for the Xbox Series X and the PS5. These versions have been a long time coming, and collectors in particular were waiting for them ever since the digital version hit the digital stores a little over a month ago.

There are many things to be excited about when it comes to The Witcher 3’s physical release. For starters, you have the main game with the Blood and Wine DLC , but also the Heart of Stone DLC. They also added the 16 pieces of extra DLC that the game received over the years.
However, what’s cool about The Witcher 3’s next-gen physical release is that you also have all the extras and quality-of-life content that was added during the December update. That means there are new camera options, a photo mode, but also a new question, and the ability to continue your progress with cross-platform support.
In addition, the new version also has FidelityFX Super Resolution support, but also ray tracing too, which is great. The transition to disc also means you have a very fast loading experience, which is a great thing to have. What’s nice to see here is that the next gen versions seem to work without problems. There are some issues with the PC version after the December patch, but CD Projekt Red has stated a PC update is on its own.
Another thing to note is that the company also mentioned this is one of the final things they will do for The Witcher 3, especially with remakes and even a new Witcher game being in the pipeline. The world is incredibly vast and the game looks even better than ever.
With that in mind, some players still expect extra and new content, but only time will tell. We will have to wait and see what else The Witcher 3 will receive, but it’s safe to say that the game has gotten a lot of support over the years, and everyone is excited to play these final, next-gen versions.
